Sunday slump

Why?? Why is it that every Sunday is the default unproductive day of the week? What is it about Sundays that just takes the zest for life out of everyone? Sunday coupled with the fall overcast weather makes everyone's eyes half-shut, even my dogs. I woke up today and ate leftovers, then tried to open my textbook but the cover was too heavy so I lied down on my bed to help digest the food. I felt like the bed was draining my energy every second so I got up and lifted some weights instead. Lifting always helps to wake me up. After that I was hypnotized by the TV and the two very close NFL games this afternoon, both were great. After wasting time on the TV I decided to get out of the house and drive around. To my surprise, the Southdale library is open on Sundays, but only till 5. The only thing I got there was a new library card, I promised them I would come and study there on the weekends. Now I'm home trying to write my blog... this sucks, I almost fell asleep writing this entry. I wonder if there is a way to make your Sundays as productive and exciting as Thursdays. If every day was equally productive and eventful, life would be quite exciting.

  • 40-year-old Andy Stitzer (Steve Carell) has done quite a few things in his life. He's got a cushy job stamping invoices at an electronics superstore, a nice apartment with a proud collection of action figures and comic books, good friends, a nice attitude. But there's just one little thing he hasn't quite gotten around to doing yet--something most people have done by his age. Andy's never, ever, ever had sex. His friends at the store consider it their duty to help, but nothing proves effective enough until he meets Trish (Catherine Keener), a 40-year-old mother of three. Andy's friends are psyched by the possibility that "it" may finally happen...until they hear that Andy and Trish have begun their relationship based on a mutual no-sex policy.

  • You and every guy on earth are hypnotized by Sunday Football madness. Why is that? Freaking 9 hours of violence. What is the point? You don't have to waste 9 hours every Sunday watching football. If you would "minimize" football watching time, you wouldn't have a Sunday slump.

  • I don't understand how people can not love football. It is a perfectly reasonable way to waste time. I have trouble doing work ALL weekend, cuz saturday is friggin college football, they need to change the times for all these things to the summer so I can get some work done...
