Pope Pope Pope All I've been hearing and seeing from the media is about the Pope. Ever since John Paul II got really ill, I've been hearing about the Pope stuff nonstop. Past few days all we heard about is "the pope is dead, lots of people at st. peter's square." A few days after that all we heard was "cardinal, secret conclave" and "who is going to be the new Pope?" Then yesterday all day we were hearing "there was a dark cloud of smoke, that means no Pope has been elected." I heard about that damn dark cloud of smoke about 8 times before I finally shut off my radio and stopped visit internet news sites. And now today we hear that they have selected a new Pope. Good for them. I expect to be flooded with Pope news for another week. This sucks, just give us back our Michael Jackson's child molestation trial updates and the daily chaos in Iraq! Saturday at MOA Saturday I took a friend to the Mall of America. As soon as we stepped into the mall, a lady walks up to us with a big smile and asks if she may ask us a question. At first I thought she was lost and wanted some help so I was more than willing. Then she asks us "Do you believe in God?" O_o So we said "no we don't" and thought that would be the end of it. Then she continues to go on telling us what believing in God means and how simple it is to do so. We both nod our heads politely with the look of "lady we're busy" on our faces. Then she tries to get us to do a prayer with her... -_- I have nothing against people and their religion/beliefs (yes, even if they're vegetarian) but I can't stand it when people try to push religion onto me. I was just kind of shocked and didn't know what to say. Finally we told her politely that we need to get some shopping done because my friend is in desperate need of a new wardrobe. What was she trying to do by getting us to do a prayer with her? Was she trying to get us to acknowledge and believe in Jesus? I told her I didn't believe in that stuff, but I felt like she was trying to be sneaky in getting me to believe it. I still don't know what to think, all I know is that I was irritated and confused.

  • Thank you for not persecuting me for my vegetarianism. :)

Religious people are fucking insane. They seem innocent enough, but the whole notion of "faith as a means to knowledge" is just as fucking dysfunctional as it comes. Consequentialists, guilt-free, anti-gays, anti-feminism (regardless of what they claim), manifest destiny, biggotry, etc. Of course this is catholicism and most forms of christianity... but yeah, its just fucked up. >___<

They act all religious, while meanwhile there are gay people commiting suicide because they know that their very sex drive is "unnatural" and "immoral" it pisses me off. I swear to G-d that depression is that common because of religion... then there are all the fallacies they use, like how they try to make people feel empty and tell them that they are worthless, and just, GAH!

*stops self because he will go on for years*
